Provide technical oversight activities during numerous construction projects. Hydro-GeoChemical believes that the success for any construction project in effective communication. For example, during the realignment of underground utilities that traversed over a contaminated site, numerous parties were involved and needed to be informed of the schedule and proposed work activities. Effectively communicated with regulatory personnel, owner of the property, and the property owner‘s environmental consultant prior to initiation of construction activities to discuss 1) the overall schedule of the construction activities; 2) ways to minimize impacts to the owner’s business; 3) which monitoring wells were going to be decommissioned and when the replacement wells would be re-installed (i.e., a portion of the proposed construction activities were within a Groundwater Management Zone); and 4) minimize disruption to groundwater sampling and compliance issues at the site. Good communication with all interested parties was essential in performing the work on this project and helped to ensure good relations with the regulatory agency and property owner.

Hydro-GeoChemical also provides technical oversight services during construction activities. Activities may include, preparing Soil and Groundwater Management Plans; assisting the client in securing permits prior to performing construction activities; performing field-screening activities (i.e., soil screening and air quality monitoring); observing excavation activities for any visible and/or olfactory signs of contamination; taking photographs to document the visual absence and/or presence of soil and/or groundwater contamination; aiding the Contractor in determining what portions, if any, of the excavated soils may be contaminated and require special handling; assisting the Contractor in segregating and stockpiling potentially contaminated soil from “clean” soil for potential reuse on the project; collecting soil and/or groundwater samples for chemical analyses for disposal purposes; and preparing summary reports.
Hydro-GeoChemical has extensive experience providing project and construction management services for small, medium, and large projects. Activities performed on these projects have included but not limited to preparing and providing technical comments on Soil Management Plans (SMP), Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP), Remediation General Permits (RGP), sampling and analysis plans, contract specifications and estimates pertaining to management of contaminated soil, sediment, and groundwater; performing surface and subsurface assessment and characterization programs; preparing site-specific environmental work plans, underground and above-ground storage tank closure and assessment activities; reviewing contract submittals; providing technical oversight and supervision of construction and environmental field activities; and providing regulatory guidance. Additionally, Hydro-GeoChemical prepares soil and groundwater bid specifications for construction projects
